Councillor Don Palmer Providing Local Leadership & Working for You

The Goodwood Oval community celebrates this year 100 years of football at Goodwood Oval.

Goodwood Oval is the centre piece of open space in Goodwood South. It is the home of community activity not only sports like football, cricket, hockey, and tennis but for family picnics, separate playgrounds for the young and very young and for exercising of dogs.

Football is the biggest user of the Oval providing opportunities for the youth of not only this area but also for outside our area.

The current club, Goodwood Saints Football Club, is one of a number of clubs to represent the community in that time. The Saints won 5 premierships in Division 1 before missing out last year at the last hurdle.

I look forward to joining in the celebrations on behalf of the Goodwood South City of Unley community.

Let us all celebrate the achievements of this as they recognise the history of  all who have participated in this wonderful community and made this year possible.
