Councillor Don Palmer Providing Local Leadership & Working for You

Another 40 people attended the Civic Centre this evening to become Australian Citizens.

As usual we saw people who originated from countries around the world including the Czech Republic, Mexico and Sudan.

Participants were welcomed by the Mayor and by the State Parliament local member David Pisoni. They had their photos taken of the mayor handing them their citizenship certificates.

What is really great is that these people are choosing not only to call Australia home but to buy into the country by becoming a citizen of Australia.

One lady (I believe to be over 80 years of age) had been here for over thirty years and had kept promising to become an Australian Citizen. She finally did it and she was like a little girl, on a high that was magnetic.
