Improving the link from east to west with the City of Unley was canvassed at this weeks full Council meeting is clearly on our agenda.
Council last night approved funding of $ 10,000.00 for concept design development, including community engagement for improved bicycle and pedestrian access from King William Road through Simpson Parade to link up to the Mike Turtur bikeway.
This is a project that will improve the east west link.
Simpson Parade is a road used now by bicycles but they often find difficulty navigating it because it is not a direct connection and they are competing with cars. A picturesque street it is felt that it is worth investigating if a separation can be achieved between car and bike.
This is a similar issue to that faced, as many readers of this blog will be aware, at Canterbury Terrace. And as those people know the answers will take a while to unfold at Simpson Parade.
