1.1 – DPA 2 – Residential Character and Regeneration Areas and Council-wide Policy

The in-fill and regeneration areas in this Development Plan Amendment stage 2 (DPA 2) are an important contribution to the overall growth expected in Unley as part of the Greater Adelaide 30-year Plan, and the offset to the conservation of desired character areas. The DPA 2 encompasses complementary refinement of general residential, sustainability and hazard (flooding) policy.

The draft DPA 2 was endorsed by Council in November 2011. It has been submitted to the Minister for Planning for approval for public consultation.

Planning is underway for public consultation, in preparation for approval, but this is not anticipated to occur until the early part of 2012.

1.2 – DPA 3 – Main Road Corridors, Centres and Living Vitalisation

The rezoning for intensification of the main road corridors and centres across Unley is the primary opportunity for growth. In the first instance, Development Plan Amendment stage 3 has been facilitated to address mixed use higher density development on Greenhill Road and Unley Road as the first part A priorities (DPA 3A). Other corridors and centres policy review will follow in due course.

The draft DPA 3A was endorsed at the 26 September 2011 Council meeting. It has been submitted to the Minister for Planning for approval for public consultation.

Planning is underway for public consultation, in preparation for approval, but this is not anticipated to occur until the early part of 2012.
