Councillor Don Palmer Providing Local Leadership & Working for You

A touchy subject at this time of year for ratepayers, elected members and for the staff of the City of Unley.

We will be going to public consultation soon on our proposed budget, to seek your feedback. I will let you know when and where as soon as I know.

At this stage it looks like we will have a rate rise of 5.0 to 5.5% and yes this will be above CPI. Trouble is council’s expenses unfortunately do not fit into the CPI basket of goods. Instead of apples and oranges and corn flakes etc council deals with concrete and bitumen and dumping fees etc.

I unfortunately missed the budget session so I need to study what we have put into the budget. My co councillor and I put a wish list together for the goodwood south ward and I believe she lobbied successfully for those projects we felt we could get into a tight budget.
