Unley Council has received a Government grant of $300,000 towards the development of  the vacant blocks of land in Katherine Street, Fullarton as a community open space

Mindful that Unley has only about 2% of green open space last year the last Council took an opportunity to purchase the former nursery land in Katherine Street Fullarton.  A bold move at the time that we thought through long and hard.

The intent of the strategic purpose was to provide us with an  opportunity to increase the amount of open space in an area of our city that lacks it. The area has been cleared already. We have now moved forward with our planning and included the redevelopment in our budget process.

Before we could approve the budget came the good news. The State Government has seen fit to see this as a project worthy of grant funding.

Local residents will soon be asked to contribute to the final redevelopment designs.
