Unley will soon, inspired by Mayor Lachlan Clyne, be hosting a Prayer Breakfast.
As a member of the organising committee I have pleasure in promoting it on this (my) blog site. I also encourage any reader of my blog site to come along and help us raise money for the local Schools Ministry.
For more information and to book your tickets please go to the web site we have created.

Love to see you there.
Is it just a Christian event, or is it open to other religions?
It is open to all, and all are invited.
I personally would love to see the great religions joining together and showing those without faith that there is an answer.
Do you think it appropriate that the Mayor of Unley should by publicly using his position to promote a religious event, especially one that is a fund raiser for the controversial “School Chaplains” programme?
Sorry but I do not understand your concern. These events are quite common around the world, and whether the event is sporting, cultural, religious, art or whatever should surely make no difference.
And I am unaware that the schools chaplaincy program is controversial.
It is because not all religions were represented and it was Christian based.
Not reflective of our multicultural society. The same way care has to be taken with Christmas celebrations in schools.
I am sorry you see it that way Anonymous but as I have indicated previosuly it is open to all.
And I note that Council is backing other religions, one of which I have previously posted on and one which I will soon be posting on.
Sorry about a misunderstanding. I was referring to the School Chaplains program as it was in schools. I personally thought it was a great idea and of great value. It just became a political football.
That’s fine anonymous. I personally am not aware of it becoming a political football, short of the Government not funding it.
Have a great day.
