Councillor Don Palmer

What Does our Community Want?

After a bit over a year as your local councillor (Goodwood South Ward-City of Unley) and having settled in I would like to know more about what you want.
Council is working through our next budget right now. Once this is complete and it is locked in Jennie and I have discussed that it is appropriate that we go back out to our community and seek their input into the remaining two budgets of our term. This I see as a great opportunity in that it will give me a chance to build on my motto to “represent you and advocate for you”.

We continue to fight for better footpaths and there we will soon be considering a master plan for the Millswood sporting complex on Millswood Crescent. These are major things, amongst other things we are working on, that need to be on the radar moving forward.

Rather than us continuing to look into the crystal ball and/or our administration identifying initiatives it would be great if we can hear from you. With your input I can truely  “represent you and advocate for you”.

To that end we intend to hold an open day in the near future. We are thinking of doing this in May. We are thinking we could set up in the Clarence Park Institute for a half day one weekend and people could drop in and have a chat at their leisure.

Watch this space for more news on this. We will also highlight this event in our next newsletter, which we expect we may deliver after Easter and Anzac are behind us.

PS   You don’t have to wait until then. If you have something you would like us to know now then reply to this blog or email either of us.
