Has Somenone told Tennis to shorten games for todays Gen Y audience

We have been hearing ad nauseum from commentators on cricket that the one day format will disappear in favour of the big bash variety and the reason…. today’s audience wants it over and done with because they have a short attention span.

It seems no-one has told Tennis they need to do the same thing.

Last night two players, just two, played an epic 5 hour battle with the Worlds no 1 coming out on top in a classic last set. And that was last night, there were matches on before this.

There was no problem with attention spans for those at the court and how many of us were on the edge of our seats all that time.

No comments from their commentators that matches need to be shortened to cater for shorter attention spans of the Gen Y audience.

And soon we will have the Clipsal 500, with entertainment all day.

Makes you wonder Cricket.
