At tonight’s City Strategy & Policy Committee meeting we saw a vote for common sense.

I refer to McLeay Park and the residents and rate payers who live near and use that Park.

A resolution will be put to next Monday’s full Council meeting to endorse the policy it should have last month and that was for Option B; an option that allows all users of the park an opportunity to get the best from the Park. I fully expect it to get a rubber stamp approval.

It was the option that always had the clear support of the vast majority of the residents and rate payers.

I am certainly glad I took the action I did last month to reserve this item out and give democracy a chance.

And well done to all in the community who stood up and spoke up. You were heard. Loud AND clear.
