Councillor Don Palmer Providing Local Leadership & Working for You

I witnessed a room full of inspirational people in attending the annual celebration tonight in the Own Hall for recipients on community grants this year was held night.

Nights such as these are some of the best you can have on council. You get to see some fantastic and diverse community activities. You get to see what some people are doing for the benefit for those who live, work and play in the City of Unley.

Of special significance to me was some of the names from the west of this fabulous city. they include:

The Goody Patch.

They have been growing steadily as they develop their community garden, recipient a grant to develop a fruit nut orchard in conjunction with an education program on tree propagation
and maintenance.

Goodwood Community Services

Funding was provided to provide a custom made air gym for use in the Goodygym program and other events at the Centre.

Goodwood Central Traders & Services Association

They were successful in obligation funding to assist in staging of The Goodwood Groove, a family focused community event to celebrate and showcase Goodwood and the Goodwood precinct.

Goodwood Volleyball

Funding was received for the purchase of volleyball poles and nets to enable disabled people to
participate in the sport through the D‐Volleyball program, which is only offered by Goodwood Volleyball.

Clarence Park Community Kindergarten

Funding was obtained to stage a community day aimed at strengthening the kindergarten community socially and to raise awareness of the services it provides to the wider community and potential newcomers.

Well done guys, and everyone else who received a grant, and those who unfortunately did not.
