Councillor Don Palmer Providing Local Leadership & Working for You

Yes. Touch Wood! The haulage routes proposed for the Goodwood Junction and Rail Electrification projects may be available soon.

Our General Manager Economic Development & Planning has advised as follows:

You would be aware that for the past two months John (another of our General Managers) and I have been involved in a frustratingly circular discussion with DPTI trying to obtain a consolidated schedule of heavy vehicle movements on our local streets resulting from all of their projects occurring in the Unley Council area in 2013.  We are now getting very close to having the final result.  Unfortunately it is still in a depressingly confusing format that would be likely to cause unnecessary stress to residents if released in that form.  By the end of the week we hope to provide you with a copy suitable for placement on your own blogs and for distribution to residents as required.

There may still be a few truck movements missing, but the total of expected truck movements on our local roads from these DPTI projects is currently about 18 600 (that is one way trips, so many of these will be empty vehicles).  About half of these are from projects that required planning approval.

John is very much across ensuring that our assets are protected, with comprehensive dilapidation surveys completed.

I look forward to receiving this and posting it on this blog site.

In the meantime time please enjoy the Christmas break, how ever long you have.
